architecture / Arch Brut

Architecture is the landscape we create for our shared existence, shaped by both human ingenuity and the elemental forces of nature. It is where structure meets spirit, where vision is grounded in necessity, and where ideas take physical form.

Architecture is also an intimate mirror of identity. It is the space where we project and express our inner world - where personality, memory, and emotion are translated into material, light, and proportions. There is a constant dialogue: we shape the spaces we live in, and in return, they shape who we become. Our homes, our cities, our gathering places - they are silent but powerful co-authors of our lives.

At its surface, architecture is a craft of materials - of walls, staircases, doors, and roofs. But this is only the visible layer. The real substance of architecture lies in what happens between these elements: the flow, the transitions, the atmosphere..., the art of creating spaces that allow life to unfold - spaces that invite presence, movement, exchange, celebration, silence, solitude, reflection, growth, love… - life itself. It is the materialized structure of experience!

I describe my architectural approach as Arch Brut.
Emerging from fundamental human needs - raw, direct, connected to the subconscious. Designed by pencil, built by shovel, hammer, saw,... I reject complex, expensive high-tech systems of aluminum, plastic...

I create structures that can age, weather, and one day become ruins - not waste!

Arch Brut is a conscious counterpoint to today’s high-performance architecture. It embraces simplicity and essential clarity. The reference to Art Brut is intentional. And while "Brut" may be mistaken for Brutalism, there is a shared spirit: directness, rawness, and an uncompromising engagement with space and material.

Architecture is the realization of ideas and aspirations, both individual and collective. It reflects how we wish to live - how we imagine community, sustainability, beauty, freedom. It is a cultural document and a living experiment, constantly evolving.

Architecture always begins in the now - but its true power lies in envisioning what does not yet exist. It is the courage to shape something new, modern, and timeless - spaces that answer to the present while reaching far beyond it. It draws from the past not to imitate, but to anchor the future.
